The Second Eurocup Event of the 29er Series 2025 kicks off tomorrow at the Real Club Náutico de Valencia (RCNV), running from Thursday, February 13, through Sunday, February 16. This highly anticipated regatta is part of the 10th edition of the Comunitat Valenciana Olympic Week, a major event in the international sailing calendar.
As many as 86 boats (172 sailors in total due to the 29er’s double-handed format) representing 18 countries will compete across 16 scheduled races over four action-packed days.
Rising Stars of the 29er Class
The 29er fleet features an impressive lineup, with this class serving as the stepping stone to the Olympic 49er. Spain’s brightest prospects include Sara and Isa Momplet of RCN Valencia, as well as Francisco Truyols and Ignacio Martín from RCN Palma.
Internationally, sailors from France, Austria, Great Britain, Switzerland, and Poland are fielding strong contenders. Notable entries include France’s Titouan Gresset, who finished fourth at the recent World Championships in Aarhus, Denmark. Great Britain is represented by James Crossley—fifth at Aarhus—who is now paired with Eliana Edwards. Also in the spotlight are Finian Morris of Great Britain (11th at Aarhus), Alicja Dampc of Poland (3rd in the women’s category), and Spain’s Sara Momplet, who finished fifth.
Racing begins each day at 12:00 noon, though start times may be adjusted depending on weather conditions.
