The 29er Class is looking for a skilled and passionate Media Manager to join our team! This part-time role offers the opportunity to manage day-to-day media tasks, work closely with our Media Director, and help execute creative strategies that expand our reach and engage the global sailing community.
What We’re Looking For
We’re searching for someone who is:
Social Media Savvy: You should have experience managing multiple social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, and YouTube.
Creative and Engaging: You excel at crafting posts, videos, and stories that capture attention and resonate with audiences.
Organized and Proactive: You can manage tasks independently, meet deadlines, and stay ahead of trends.
Event-Ready: Available to attend major events: the 29er European Championship (1st week of July) and the World Championship (1st week of August) and capable to handle live updates, conduct interviews, and provide real-time coverage.
Tech-Skilled: Familiarity with platforms like SmugMug for photo organization, website management tools, and newsletter creation is a plus.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As the 29er Class Media Manager, you’ll play a vital role in executing our media strategies and ensuring a seamless flow of content. Your responsibilities will include:
- Social Media Management:
Post regularly on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, and YouTube.
Monitor activity, share stories, interact with sailor accounts, and respond to messages.
- Event Coverage:
Attend major events like the European and World Championships to post live updates, conduct sailor interviews, share results, and upload photos and videos to social media
Ensure the website’s event pages are up-to-date with the latest information.
Cover EuroCup events remotely, sharing photos, videos, graphics and press releases with the material available.
- Content Organization:
Update and maintain the class’s photo shelter by tagging, crediting, and organizing photos.
Ensure all content is accessible and well-organized for internal and external use.
- Website & Newsletters:
Add event information and news to the class website.
Create and send newsletters to keep our audience informed and engaged.
Create and post website articles with the event press releases.
- Media Plan Execution:
Collaborate with the Media Director to implement strategic media plans.
Help ensure consistency and alignment with the class’s overall vision and goals.
Time Commitment
8 hours per week for ongoing media tasks, including remote coverage of EuroCup events.
Full-day attendance required for the entire duration of the European and World Championships (approximately 7 days each).
Skills & Experience Required
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
Proven experience in social media management and content creation.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Availability to attend major events in July and August.
A passion for sailing and knowledge of the sport is a bonus!
