DAY 1
Strong East wind for this first day of the Hyeres 29er Euro Cup. 107 crews registered, 34 crews for the Women fleet, 24 crews for the Mixed fleet and 49 crews for the Men's fleet.
First start was scheduled at 14.00, during the coach meeting at 12.30, Jean DIAZ, RC, announced that the intention is one race for each fleet and fleet will go one by one on the race area.
At 13.20, AP flag for 2 fleet, the wind was 23 knots to 26.
At 14.30 D flag for the fleet with pennant. Crews launched boats and reach the race area with 20/24 knots and waves around 1/1.20 meters.
Before the orange flag, the wind increased to more than 28 knots in the gusts, so unfortunately for safety reasons, the RC posponed the races for the day although the sailors had great fun blasting around with spinnakers up!
At 18.00, all sailors, coaches and family, had a wonderful social gathering with drinks and pizzas at Espace Nautique.
