Athlete Wellbeing Survey
To help us better support athletes at upcoming events, we have launched a short survey regarding dietary requirements, allergies, and food intolerances.
We strongly encourage all sailors (or their coaches/parents where appropriate) to complete it. This will allow event organisers to better plan catering options and ensure everyone is properly looked after on site.
Your feedback makes a real difference in improving the overall event experience.
Please take a moment to fill it in if you haven’t already.https://www.sailarena.com/en/se/club/ksss/eurocup-29er--49erfx-open-2026/

Jib Update
Progress continues on the development of the new 29er jib, following some concerns raised about the timeline. During 2025, the 29er Class Technical Committee has been testing targeted improvements to increase durability without compromising performance or class equality.
Key wear areas were identified at the leech, due to flutter fatigue, and in the lower panels, affected by compression from the gennaker. Trials with thicker films did not deliver meaningful lifespan gains and negatively impacted performance.
The current best solution is a modified 3 mm jib, featuring improved leech stability, while further work is ongoing to reinforce the lower panels. A structured, data-driven testing process remains in place, with final phase testing (Mod V2 jibs) starting shortly and results expected in early June, alongside an updated timeline and next steps.
Call for Partners & Sponsors!
The International 29er Class continues to grow as one of the most dynamic youth sailing platforms in the world, bringing together thousands of young athletes across major international events and an ever-expanding global circuit.
We are currently opening discussions with potential partners and sponsors who share our vision of performance, youth development, and innovation in sailing.
With high visibility across major events such as the EuroCup series, European and World Championships, and a strong digital media presence, the 29er Class offers a unique opportunity to connect with the next generation of elite sailors.
If you are interested in becoming part of the 29er journey, we would be happy to start the conversation.

We’re excited to introduce the new 29er Learning Hub, a dedicated space on our website designed to support sailors, coaches, and teams in their development journey.
From technical insights to coaching resources and useful tips, the platform will continue to grow with new content aimed at helping you improve both on and off the water.
Strategy Document
The 29er Class has recently completed a comprehensive Strategic Review, aimed at ensuring the class continues to evolve alongside its rapid global growth.
The review highlights how the 29er remains the key pathway to high-performance sailing, with increasing participation—especially in Europe—and rising expectations from sailors, coaches, and families.
Based on extensive feedback, six key areas have been identified for development, including governance, transparency, NCA engagement, membership, communication, and equipment. Several actions are already underway, such as improving communication, increasing transparency, and strengthening collaboration with National Class Associations, while further steps are planned throughout 2026 to ensure the class remains modern, inclusive, and fit for the future.
