2025 Worlds and Europeans
The 29er Worlds will be held at BBDouro in Porto, Portugal, dates 1st - 8th August 2025 and the 29er Europeans will be held Riva del Garda, in Italy, dates 1st – 8th July.
WS Youth Sailing World Championship 2025
The Youth Sailing Worlds 2025 will be held in Vilamoura in Portugal 12-20th December 2025.

10. Germany - Warnemunde 1-5th October 2025
11. Italy - Final – 25th – 28th October Garda 2025
2026 and 2027 Championships
We have received a low number of bids to run our Worlds and European Championships in 2026 and 2027 and have therefore extended the bidding deadlines to 30th November for 2026 events and 31st December for 2027 events.
New Class Media Manager
The Class have appointed Alexia Lahoud as the Media Manager on a part time basis. Alexia will continue to work in her similar role in the 49er and Nacra 17 Classes. She will manage the website, social media and liase directly with sailors and coaches throughout the year to create content consistent with the values of the International 29er Class and to help support NCA’s with sharing fun and exciting content about the 29er Class that can be shared locally.
Technical Committee and Technical Chair
The Class have appointed a Technical committee to oversee all equipment and technical topics that arise. This committee is comprised of;

We are pleased to announce that Leo Sanchez (ESP) has accepted the role of International 29er Class Chief Measurer.
Jib
The Class are looking into the longevity and consistency of the current 29er sails and investigating the different options for improvement. There are currently five designs of jib being tested:
1. Thicker material with stronger battens (black)
2. Same material stronger + more battens
3. Same material, same battens, added leech battens
4. Different material and design
5. Thicker material same battens (orange)
