XXXVI Portuguese Junior and Absolute Championship 2025 – Vilamoura welcomes the new generation of Portuguese sailing From September 18th to 21st, Vilamoura will host the XXXVI Portuguese Junior and Absolute Championship 2025, one of the most prestigious competitions in the national sailing calendar.
Over four days of intense racing, 167 boats, 203 athletes, and 25 coaches will be in action, showcasing the future of sailing in Portugal. The championship brings together eight classes: Wing Foil, iQFoil, ILCA 7, ILCA 6, ILCA 4, Hansa 303, 420, and 29er, reflecting the diversity and vitality of Portuguese sailing. This year marks a historic milestone, as for the first time a 29er competition will feature Portuguese teams on the starting line. This is a landmark moment for the sport in Portugal and an important step in consolidating and expanding the country’s youth sailing classes.
The championship is organized by Capable Planet, CIMAV – Clube Internacional da Marina de Vilamoura, and the Portuguese Sailing Federation, with the support of Vilamoura Sailing. This reinforces Vilamoura’s position as a leading destination for sailing at the highest level. The event promises not only top-level competition, but also valuable opportunities for growth and learning for the young sailors.
