Camping & Outdoor Options
For sailors traveling with vans or motorhomes, camping is a great alternative.

On-Site Camping – Kiel-Schilksee
During major sailing events such as Kieler Woche and the 29er World Championship 2026, on-site camping is available directly at the Olympic Sailing Center in Kiel-Schilksee. A Reservation is not possible.

Travel Information

By Air:
- Hamburg Airport (HAM) is the nearest international airport (approx. 90 km).
- Lübeck Airport (LBC) offers some regional and ryanair connections.

By Train:
- Regular trains connect Hamburg and Kiel in about 1 hour.
- From Kiel Central Station, take bus lines 12, 13, X30, 501/502  to “Schilksee Olympiazentrum”.

By Car:
- From the south: A7 → A215 → B503, following signs to Schilksee / Olympiazentrum.
- Car and trailer parking available near the venue.

Local Transport:
- Schilksee is well connected by public transport and taxis.
- Bikes or e-scooters are a great option for short distances.
