FURTHER SUPPORT OF SKIFFS IN ISAF |

Both the 29er and 29erXX continued to receive support from various committees leading up to the final Council vote on Friday. The Events Committee voted to add the Open 29er at the Youth Worlds while the 29erXX prevailed again as the preferred choice for the women's doublehanded boat for the 2012 Olympics. The 29erXX has now received 3 committees support for the Games while the recognition of the 29er in Youth Worlds also carries support. Stay tuned... |

HOT NEWS - 29erXX SELECTED BY WOMEN'S COMMITTEE |

The 29erXX was chosen by the Women's Committee at ISAF by 1 vote over the women's 470 as preferred equipment for the women's doublehanded boat for the 2012 Olympics. Although not a done deal, the support of this committee and others hopefully to come, is an indication of great changes for the world of sailing. The 29er was also supported unanimously for addition to the ISAF Youth Worlds and will go to Council for the final vote by this weekend. |
